Nokia’s Pushmail/Powermail Service Barred by DoT

DoT (Department of Telecommunication) haveBlocked Nokia’s pushmail/powermail services till it gets it’s legal monitoring service.

The reason behind this abrupt decision is said to arise when BlackBerry phones were having security issue’s in India and it was under the government’s inspection. The government of India had asked RIM (Research in Motion) to come out with a solution to Enterprise mail service. We have reported that DoT and the Home Ministry of India was seeking help from U.S for security issues.

Nokia’s messaging service involves companies and consumer’s, mobile user enabling the them to manage multiple e-mail account from various e-mail services like Yahoo, Sify, Rediff, Gmail. Nokia’s should come up with necessary steps to legalize it’s monitoring service because almost 50% of the Nokia E Series business phones are sold in the country to get e-mails via mobile.
